Harbour Esplanade

Harbour Esplanade

Harbour Esplanade The first stage of works to transform Docklands' Harbour Esplanade was completed in 2011.

The Harbour Esplanade redevelopment will ultimately see this important public space transformed into a new harbourside park for Melbourne.

The first stage of works, between, Bourke Street and Docklands Drive, saw the creation of a tree-lined boulevard, dedicated bike and pedestrian paths, and the realignment of tram tracks into the centre of the roadway, to provide additional parkland and recreational space.
Road Closures

Harbour Esplanade will be closed to vehicle traffic between Bourke Street and LaTrobe Street to install curb-side drains between the following times:

Northbound lane (harbour-side) between 9.30pm and 5am: Tuesday 17 April to Thursday 19 April and Monday 23 April to Thursday 26 April

Southbound lane (stadium-side) between 9.30pm and 5am: Monday 30 April to Thursday 3 May and Monday 7 May to Thursday 10 May

Signed detour routes will be in place and traffic management staff will be on site to assist pedestrians and motorists as required.

These works are subject to weather conditions.

All works will be completed under permit and in accordance with City of Melbourne requirements, including permission to restrict road access in order to conduct night works.
